2 Church Shootings Over the Weekend
November 25, 2008 by Crassroots · Leave a Comment
There were two shootings over the weekend, one in Clifton, New Jersey, the other in Los Angeles. In case you are curious, here is a spreadsheet which lists Fatal Church Shootings in the United States since 1999.
Church shootings are becoming more and more common. Many states ban firearms in churches, however like malls and schools, that only keeps the law abiding folks from carrying.
I’m not going to get into a debate on whether or not these places should or should not allow CCW. What I will comment on is the fact that guns in churches have kept the death tolls low. At the recent Scientology shooting in LA, the threat was armed with Samurai Swords, not a gun, but he was shot by security before he could injure anyone. The New Jersey incident was targeting an individual (an ex wife), and the other two unarmed victims were killed or injured while trying to stop the gunman.
